Children's Discovery Museum
ROEM together with MIRO Design Group donated labor and materials equivalent to $40,000 towards the expansion and redesign
of the Children's Discovery Museum. ROEM expanded the Arts & Crafts room by 160 square feet, installed new finishes,
lighting, and ventilation. MIRO integrated a new architectural theme into the space: instead of following the character
of the rest of the museum, it used more organic forms and natural materials to achieve a more relaxing and inspiring
atmosphere that fosters children's creative thinking and artistic expression.
Lyndale Elementary School
Time and money donated to Lyndale Elementary School totaled more than $40,000. ROEM installed a new lawn and benches for
the kindergarten playground and fixed sections of the surrounding sidewalk.
In addition, ROEM actively supports the following youth programs:
Restorative Justice Program
RJP's goal is to keep youth out of the criminal justice system. Once a youth commits a minor crime, a judge can send him
or her to receive targeted rehabilitation at RJP instead of a sentence at Juvenile Hall or the Ranch.
Turn Around and The Kiwanis Club of East San Jose
Turn Around Scholarship Fund
These $1000 scholarships are given to students who have overcome obstacles in their lives. Some of these situations include:
teen pregnancy, academic failure, depression, chronic illness, homelessness, desertion by parents, drug and gang involvement.
The Comet Family Resource Center of James Lick High School
This center provides services for students that help them through difficult situations, so they can reach their full potential
and graduate from high school.
